Halloween - and Another Purchase

It's 1:07AM on October 31, officially Halloween, and I am sitting in front of my iMac buying more crypto.  I just deposited another $1,000 into my Coinbase Pro account and put $950 towards Solana (SOL).  I don't like putting in an order as a "Limit" order, though wise investors would probably tell me to do so, but when I have my mind set on something, I go for the market price so I can get it over with.  I sat there and watched the darn graph go up and down again, and when the price inched just a teeny tiny bit down in the decimals of $190 per coin, I bought 5 coins.

Everyone has been telling me SOL is a good bet.  I didn't buy it last week because the price per coin is a bit high.  But one news article led to another led to another and I decided to go for it.  First, I read that the crypto firm FTX is planning on putting an ad out on Super Bowl Sunday.  And it turns out the famous good-looking couple of Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have equity stake in FTX.  After going to the FTX website to learn more about the company, I decided to look at the NFTs and the featured Solana collections.  I've not been paying much attention to this type of stuff though I've read about how some digital art have sold for thousands or even millions of dollars.  I like this story in particular, https://www.coindesk.com/business/2021/10/28/how-a-14-year-old-used-solana-nfts-to-raise-100k-for-beluga-conservation/, mainly because it's nice how a young girl did some good with her creations and I feel a bit greedy trying to make money off Bitcoin just so I can get rid of my mortgage.  This is probably a very lofty dream considering I still haven't really taking the plunge to risk depositing much more money into my account, and like the small amount of Tesla shares I had purchased when the opportunity was there, my cautiousness will probably be the reason I'll walk away with very little gain in the end.  Rather than kicking myself again for missed opportunities, I am waiting for the market to open on Monday to buy more Tesla shares, which seems to be a pretty sure bet recently.  Elon Musk, don't let me down!  I'm using cash I had put aside to buy another car but with car prices through the roof right now, I'm gambling on stocks and maybe I'll end up making enough from it to actually purchase a Tesla (or some other electric vehicle).

I'm contemplating taking a break from the crypto market for a while and just watch to see how it goes with my current investments.  Yea, I know, why is this called the Crypto Chronicles if I'm already on the downswing after only a week.  Maybe I'll dabble into creating some digital art just to test the waters and be able to say I tried it and blog about it.  I haven't decided yet, but this has turned into a bit of a time suck, and I'm neglecting my sleep and normal routines.  I mean, I do have a regular job that does require some research during my off hours because I'm trying to learn more about data analytics, reporting tools, Microsoft Azure, PowerApps, etc., etc., but who wants to dwell on that when there's money to be made by gambling away some of my hard earned money?

P.S. By the time I finished writing this post, SOL is now down $2 at a price of $188 rather than the $190 that I paid.  *SIGH*. I know, I know, this is so unhealthy for me to sit here and watch these fluctuations.  It is now 2:04AM.  Time to sign off.
